I shouldn’t do this as demand will only drive up prices but I love staying here. My preferred Hobart hotel. Quality, room size, linen, service w a smile. Very good value.

Loved the history of the building! Situated in a convenient but quiet location, price is very decent for the quality, and staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The bed was so comfy it made it very difficult to get out haha - would definitely love to stay here again when in Tassie.

Great view from a building with a rich past! Make sure you ask about the history of the site. The breakfast is simple, but really, what else do you need before heading downtown to explore!

Another very enjoyable stay - thank you to the lovely hard working staff, and the GM Brett - they always remember my name and recall our chats from previous stays. This is a heritage property and the renovation has made rooms feel bright and airy. House keeping are friendly and do a great job; my room was clean, and crisp linen on the perfectly made bed - mattress and pillows were excellent. The breakfast was a small buffet and was satisfying especially if you're not in a rush, enjoy the view. The hotel is easy to get to with plenty of onsite parking - I noticed some interesting new additions such as EV charging and Kinto car hire - photos attached - thank you Brett and team Rydges Hobart

Shared an early Xmas lunch with a lovely bunch of friends. The meal was absolutely fabulous, extremely filling, and the staff were exceptional. A must to visit. We only had a lovely meal, so unable to comment on rooms, etc.

Overall, this hotel was great however, in our room, the TV was extremely slow. To put this into perspective, we would click a button and then 7 seconds later the TV would react. Worth the price.

Forget your cookie-cutter hotel chains, the Rydges Hobart is a breath of fresh air, a heritage charm and modern comfort that'll leave you humming long after checkout. grand, redbrick corridors that whisper tales of bygone eras, sunlight streaming through stained glass windows painting dappled patterns on the polished floor. The bar and restaurant aren't mere hotel eateries – they're stately dining rooms fit for a governor's banquet, the kind where chandeliers glint off starched tablecloths and whispers of hushed conversations hang in the air. The staff? More like Hobart's friendliest tour guides, eager to share hidden gems and local secrets with a genuine smile.🙂 Don't forget to mention the 1898 Bar & Dining! Their focus on fresh, local Tasmanian produce is a culinary adventure in itself, and the historic setting makes every bite a journey through time. P.S. If you're a history buff, ask the staff about the building's fascinating past – they're treasure troves of local lore!

Though it is very old building, they have maintained it very well. Breakfast is ok. Very few options for vegetarians. There is no guarded premises, which is bit scary. But you get privacy here. We loved our room. Staff is very friendly.
